I hearby award you the title of Big Corn

Corraborating information from a video leaked earlier this week, Konami has confirmed that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be released on consoles September 1st of this year, with the Steam version following close behind on the 15th. Metal Gear Online, the multiplayer conponent of the game, will launch at the same time. The retail prices for the “Day One” versions are $59.99 for the PS4, Xbox One, and Steam, and $49.99 for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

This version will include:

A physical map

Adam-ska Special Weapon

Personal Ballistic Shield (Silver)

Cardboard Box (Wetland)

Fatigues (Blue Urban Snake Costume)

Metal Gear Online XP Boost

The steam version will also have all of the Day One edition DLC when it launches. Fans with a little extra money to throw around will also be able to grab the “collectors edition” exclusively for PS4 and Xbox One, which will include a ton of physical and digital goodies.

The physical bonuses include:

Special packaging

Half-scale replica of Snake’s bionic arm

Included on the digital sides of things:

The Collector’s Editon will be $99.99 for either version. All in all, quite the haul, and definitely on the reasonably-priced side as far as Collector’s Editions go. However, until it’s confirmed that this won’t be a repeat of the tasteless narrative trappings in Ground Zeroes, I’m going to stick with Mario for all my box-hiding needs.
