Oh no, not the dailies again. Anything but that...
A new trailer (accidentally) released this morning by Koei Tecmo has revealed that the Wii U Legend of Zelda/Dynasty Warriors hybrid game Hyrule Warriors will be heading over to the 3DS with some new additions. The video has since been made private on YouTube, but we still have it available for watching here on the Chooch. Prominently featured are characters from an era of Hyrule not yet touched by the game, where Hyrule was flooded and became the Great Sea. First shown in the Gamecube classic Wind Waker, the Great Sea is home to many fan-favorite characters, two of which are showing up in this new portable iteration of Hyrule Warriors.
The first new character revealed is Tetra, the leader of a gang of pirates who assists Link in his adventure and the secret descendant of Princess Zelda. She is shown using both her sword and a pistol to take down enemies in the trailer. The second character revealed is Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule, the King of Hyrule, perhaps better known as the talking boat called the King of Red Lions that allows Link to traverse the Great Sea. It appears that both characters will be transferable to the Wii U version of the game by connecting the 3DS and Wii U.
Images in the trailer confirm that DLC characters will also be appearing this version of Hyrule Warriors, though it is unknown if they will be included as part of the game’s main roster. It is also unknown if any DLC content from the Wii U version will be transferable to the 3DS. More details will likely be revealed at E3 this year.
Hyrule Warriors is perhaps the most-played game in my Wii U library, and judging by this trailer the 3DS version might be set to take the top spot in my 3DS library as well.
