It’s very difficult to watch the images coming out of Texas in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. Even as a lifelong Floridian, who has seen his fair share of hurricane damage and devastation, I struggle with the inability to step in and help. Luckily there is almost always an avenue to help, no matter how little. Games Done Quick are no strangers to opening an avenue for charity and love to flow so we can all try and help others in need, and Hurricane Harvey will be no different.

Starting on September 1st at 8pm ET and running until September 3rd 8pm ET, Games Done Quick will be running Harvey Relief Done Quick with all proceeds going to the Houston Food Bank. It’s a wonderful opportunity to show once again that the video game industry, like so many others, is here to help in the wake of tragedy and disaster. Games Done Quick is still filling up submission spots and putting out details so keep an eye on their Twitter page for further updates.

If you’re not around, say maybe at PAX West, then have no fear. There are plenty of other ways to donate to Hurricane Harvey relief even after the stream is done. And if you’re unable to donate something to help those in need, even the littlest of acts like sharing and spreading the word on social media can help. Everything helps, nothing is insignificant, and you can lend a hand.
